FIELD OPERATOR

Job Summary:
The Water Department Field Operator is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and repair of water distribution systems and treatment facilities. This role involves monitoring water quality, ensuring system functionality, and performing routine inspections and troubleshooting to guarantee the delivery of safe, clean water to the community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate and maintain pumps, valves, and other equipment related to water distribution and treatment.
  • Conduct routine inspections of water systems and facilities.
  • Monitor water quality and take samples for testing.
  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment malfunctions.
  • Respond to emergencies, including system outages or water contamination issues.
  • Document maintenance, repairs, and inspections as required.
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient water system operations.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in water treatment or a related field is preferred.
  • Previous experience in water system operations or utility maintenance is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and handle emergency situations effectively.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to operate utility vehicles.
